The Voice and its Double
The Voice and its Double

“Singing Over a Voice Study” by Michael Hiltbrunner (*1975) makes audible conversation with a Charlemagne Palestine voice study originally recorded in the mid-1960s (re-released on “Voice Studies”, on Alga Marghen records in 2008). Palestine sang a duet with one of his own previously recorded falsettos to create a nimble, inquisitive laboratory of oscillations. Hiltbrunner’s own voice-over contribution adds a third voice (or is it actually a fourth?) altering the experience of structure, dissonance and resonance.
